From low-relief knits to grid motifs and embroidered QR’s, sts.apart explores parallels between textile structures and the binary codes of our online webs. It navigates playfully through translations from language to reality and back. With references to alchemy, like elemental platonic geometries and color frequencies, it also questions the depth of our understanding of this virtual realm.
At the heart of it all, like the many hive-minded creatures found crawling amidst sts.apart pieces, collaboration is central to the coming-together of these spaces. With special moments bringing together artists of all disciplines including augmented reality animation and performance art, the brand ties local and global creative networks to construct magical experiences.

CAROLINA TRINKER
born in Vienna, Austria • lives and works in NYC
NYC-based textile artist & designer Carolina Trinker finds endless possibility in textiles as an expression of encoded identity. As a multilingual Austrian-Brazilian artist, she finds language at her fingertips and fuses many forms of craft including mechanical machine knitting, ceramics, and digital embroidery. Passionate about multi-disciplinary collaboration, she invites many artists into her world of craft in media from AR animation to music and dance.
